Red Bull Shore Pound

Getting barreled in Oahu’s shorepound is unbelievably gnarly. Of course, 99 percent of us mere mortals will never attempt towing into shorepound barrels in Hawaii, but thankfully we have riders like Parks Bonifay, Brian Grubb, and Nick Taylor for that. Wakeboarding is an escape for all of us, whether we’re just learning to carve or charging into double-ups. Part of that escape is also being captivated by what’s possible. What’s possible in terms of tricks? What’s possible in terms of locations? Winching in Hawaiian barrels might be a pipe dream for most, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be dreamed about.

School of Surf – Trailer

SEE MORE – http://www.vbs.tv/shows/school-of-surf/ Coming in September. When we first heard about the National Surf League and the Red Bull Riders Cup, our response was something along the lines of “Oh [not looking up from the computer], high school kids in surf teams surfing against each other in some sort of surf competition? I don’t know, not the most amazing thing in the world, but could be decent.” Because we are sports, we agreed to go out to Hermosa Beach and film it, thinking maybe it’d be good for an episode of Americana or some Hi Shredability bonus crap. Nothing major. Then we got there and instantly became so wrapped up in all the teenage drama that by the time we looked at our watches, we realized we had shot an entire series and grown long scraggly beards. It was like the surfing equivalent of getting sucked into a Sunday afternoon Degrassi marathon. “School of Surf” follows the surfers competing in the 2008 season from beginning to end, documenting all their relationships, family pressures, hilarious teen riffing, wipe-outs, and good rides like some sort of creepy old man. Look for it on VBS this September.

Red Bull – Evan Geiselman

Evan Geiselman is referred to by both friends and fans as ?The Golden Boy.? Is it because of his flowing blonde hair? Could it be that sun-kissed Floridian skin? Or maybe it?s just the tail throw? Truth is: it?s a combination of everything.
